Torre di Babele supplements its broad selection of courses with a rich program of cultural and leisure activities.

Living in Italy - even if it is only for a short time - is a unique experience, full of opportunities. Rome is a lively metropolis, with an exciting cultural scene and a rich calendar of seasonal activities. It is the world's largest outdoor museum, hundreds of churches, countless monuments, museums, galleries, theaters and cinemas. There are frequent concerts of all types of music - opera, classical, jazz, rock, etc.

The school's cultural program allows you to enjoy the city and its events while learning Italian. The following activities are offered on a regular basis alongside Italian language courses:

  • Introduction to Rome: the city, its services, and its cultural events
  • Guided tours of Rome: Art history itinerary; Italian architecture itinerary
  • Italian Cinema: Presentation and viewing of films of representative Italian directors
  • Italian Literature: The new Italian writers
  • The Regions of Italy: history, culture, traditions, and life today
  • Italian "Opera"
  • Seminar on Italian light music
  • Seminar on pronunciation
  • Wordless words: seminar on Italian hand gestures
  • Excursions during the week-end to Naples, Pompeii, Orvieto, Florence and to the seaside
  • Evenings out at restaurants and “pizzerie” with the school’s teachers
  • Excursions and visits to the city's parks (Villa Torlonia, Villa Doria Pamphili, Villa Borghese, Appia Antica, etc.)
  • Italian cooking
  • Culinary tour in the city center
  • Italian wine tasting
  • Taking photographs together and discovering Rome
  • Sports: soccer and beach volleyball games
  • Tandem evenings: "language exchange" with Italians

During the summer, the city hosts the famous “Estate romana” (Rome Summer festival), offering an impressive number of outdoor events, including concerts, dance, theater, cinema, etc. In this period, the school organizes evenings out where teachers accompany students to various events.

All of these activities are occasions to practice and enjoy your knowledge of Italian language, after having learned in classes with our top-notch teachers.

Participation in the school's cultural program is free of charge. Students pay only when trips, meals, museum entrance or other paid events are involved.
