The DITALIS BASE certification demonstrates basic knowledge in the field of Italian L2 teaching.
It is designed for teachers whose first language is not Italian, but is also open to those preparing to take on a position as Italian L” teachers.
In the only requirement to sit the DITALIS BASE exam is the completion of a humanities degree lasting at least 3 years.
Those with a degree in a different field can be admitted to the DITALIS BASE exam if they have supplemented it with at least 15 hours of Italian L2 teaching or traineeship; those with qualifications to high school level can access the exam if they have completed at least 30 hours of teaching in any discipline (with at least 15 hours of Italian L2 teaching) or a traineesship in Italian L2 classes.
