Since it was founded in 1984, the Torre di Babele High Training Institute has excelled in the field of Italian as a foreign language, and is certified by the Ministry of Education, Universities and research as a training institute.
Starting in 2001, the school is also an authorized center for the DITALS exam (certification in Italian education for foreigners).
Training courses vary in type and length and contribute to the total or partial achievement of the requirements for a DITALS certificate. Our courses are accredited and monitored by the DITALS Centre at the University for Foreigners in Siena, a collaboration going back over 15 years. Since 2008, our training and refresher courses for Italian teachers have been included on the Comenius/Grundtvig database. In 2014, the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) was replaced by the new Erasmus Plus scheme. Teachers from EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Macedonia and Turkey can apply for ERASMUS PLUS funding to take part in our teacher training courses. The study grant generally covers course fees as well as travel and accommodation expenses.
