Regular Verbs Conjugations in Italian (Present Tense)
Hi there!
We have finally finished the second free Italian video lesson. It took us awhile. I know… many of you were asking via e-mail, some even by phone, when the next video lesson was going to be online.
First, I would like to thank David, Sina, Alexandra, Susa, Wing and Eva for publicly commenting and advising us on many issues that they noticed about the format of the previous video (Reflexive Verbs in Italian). We also took at heart the suggestions that arrived by e-mail from other ex-students of Torre di Babele and certainly those of the growing community of Italian language learners.
By a show of hands! In this case a show of e-mails, we decided to take it down to the basics. So here it’s the Conjugations of Regular Verbs in the Present Tense. If you want to speak Italian you have to know the verbs very well. Without verbs our sentences will have no meaning, usually end up being fragments. In Italian there are three groups of verbs. You can distinguish them from their forms in infinitive: -are, -ere, -ire.
First Conjugation – e.g.: PARLARE.
Second Conjugation – e.g.: PRENDERE
Third Conjugation – e.g.: DORMIRE
What will you learn in this Italian video lesson?
Alvise will show you how you can conjugate regular verbs in the simple present tense. Afterwards you can download the PDF file. We have included two different exercises that deal with the conjugation of regular verbs, plus the respective key to those exercises so that you can track your progress.
Buon lavoro!!

First of all, thank you for your efforts. Good luck on your project.
Your “lighting and sound improvement ” , as suggested by David in his blog, were quite evident.
I did not have Alvisse as a teacher when I attended classes at Torre di Babele in 2006; I think that his presentations are very clear and creative.
Please tell Viola Laett that I have no plans on using the voucher this year and thanks to her, too, for contacting me initially.

Hi Jim…
Well thanks for your reply… actually it’s not just my project. None of this wouldn’t be possible if TDB board of directors wouldn’t have engaged Sven Ilgner. He’s a great Camera Man, Movie Director, Audio Specialist, Lighting Specialist… somehow when we get down to say action, it all seems like a one man show behind the scenes! Besides… without Loredana’s Italian teaching skills (Academic Coordinator), it wouldn’t have been possible to realize the vision of giving back to the community.
I must confess I’m truly excited about the next ones… I hope we keep hearing back from everyone! Help us make this videos better… after all… they are for you!
very nice, well done … superb for the beginners, I’ll share it with my friends
and now is maybe time for something for advanced students
I hope and look forward …
Cari saluti a Roma, amici!
hey eva… thanks for your comments! I promise… we are working on some advance stuff too! Hang in there. There request for basic topics were substantially higher, thus, we had to organize the materials and do these basic video first.
The audio is much better. My wife is sitting on this lesson and I am also sending to my son who was in Italy with me.

I’m happy the video is up to everyone’s standards. Thanks for those words Joe. Keep the suggestions coming. Again, we just want to make these videos better for you. By the way, feel free to send it to all your friends that may be interested in learning a new language. I personally know so many that just a month and a week ago made “learning a new language” a New year’s resolution. I interact faster on Facebook. Thus, I thought it would be easier for you guys to use the social networks link we put on the bottom of each post.
Enjoy! And please let us know what your wife and son think!
Ciao a tutti!!! purtroppo questo secondo video nn lo posso vedere.
Nn so cosa sia? Cosa devo fare?
Il primo l’ ho visto con difficoltà, ma stavolta soltanto si vedono qualche immagini.
Ciao Silvia…
è strano che tu non sei riuscita a vedere il video. Non abbiamo mai avuto problemi. Hai scaricato il plug-in di Flash? Perche non mi mandi una e-mail con le specificazione tecniche del tuo computer, cioè sistema operativo e browser? Usa il form “Online Suggestion Box” nella pagina “Italian Online”.
Molto buono! Complimenti! Retornero’ a Roma prossimo junio.
One concern: There is a lot of echo in the classroom which affects the sound. Adding something to absorb the sound like a rug, blankets, pillows, will help the acoustics.
Thanks for the tip peggy… we will keep it in mind. We can’t wait to welcome you back this Summer.
Saluti cordiali
Michèle

Please keep me on the mailing list!
Ok… Jenni, we will keep you on our mailing list!
Tanti saluti da Roma!
Amici di torre di babel, il vostro video su i verbi è bellissimo, perche non fatte la stessa cosa con i verbi irregolari.
Grazie Isabel
Ciao Isabel,
speriamo di poter mettere un nuovo video al più presto. Forse sui verbi irregolari!
Tanti augri per il tuo studio (dei verbi irregolari)
Saluti,
Viola
Well, you are doing a great effort here, I really appreciate your hard work. I myself am a language teacher and I know how difficult it is to teach the concept of verbs in a lesson. Do you have any video for the use of articles?
Hi!
thank you for your comment!
At the moment there are some more videos in production. We hope we can edit them as soon as possible.
Regards,
Viola
