First Day at School

The first day is often the worst when it comes to going to school. It doesn’t get easier with age as I was to find out with my own experience.

It has nothing to do with the teacher nor the students! They are wonderful and I was welcomed with open arms. This is more the thought of learning something completely alien to me. English is my mother tongue and it shares some phrase similar to Italian. But I feel like a child talking her first steps in an unknown world.

Throwing the ball around as a group helped a lot to ease my nerves and allow me to relax. Relaxing is when you can be begin to take in the information you need.  I still felt like a fish out of water… but it seems I wasn’t the only one looking at my fellow classmates. :)

In time I hope I will be able to order a coffee without being afraid or sounding completely silly….

Ciao,

DJ

Hi All, I'm a New Zealander who has recently moved to Roma from London. I got my EU citizenship and wanted to experience life in a culture other than English. Plus the weather is much better here anyway! Learning Italian is the best way to experience Italy (Italia for the locals) and it will mean I come a way for more than just great memories.

  1. Great post.First day in School is a memorable for everyday. Thanks for sharing…

Gratzie mille a tutta l’escuola di torre di babele, fantastica¡¡¡
